MacKenzie O’Brien is a legal intern at Tuohy Minor Kruse PLLC, with a focus on family law and a growing interest in estate planning. She completed her undergraduate and law degrees at Seattle University, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business Law and a minor in Economics in 2021, followed by her Juris Doctor in 2023 at Seattle University School of Law. Originally from Camano Island, Wash., MacKenzie lived in Seattle for six years before making her way back up north to Everett. With a passion for growth, MacKenzie is eager to increase her legal expertise and deliver exceptional service to those she represents.

Currently awaiting bar admission, MacKenzie is a Rule-9 Licensed Legal Intern, a role that grants limited licensing to recent graduates for supervised legal practice. Through this role, she is gaining hands-on experience, developing her skills, handling various legal responsibilities, and gaining valuable courtroom and client interaction experience under the supervision of seasoned attorneys.

In her free time, MacKenzie enjoys reading, playing tennis, and spending time with her cat. She is excited to further develop her career as she awaits the opportunity to become a fully licensed associate attorney.
