Besides her work as an attorney, Melanie stays busy being involved in the community. Before starting her own practice, she spent several months volunteering for the Housing Justice Project (“HJP”), which provides free legal advice and representation to low income tenants facing eviction.
Melanie C. Griffin
Melanie’s principal practice area is family law. After graduating law school, she started her own family law practice in Kirkland. In 2010, Melanie moved her practice to Everett and worked as a contract attorney until she joined the firm of Tuohy Minor Kruse PLLC as an associate in 2012.
Melanie believes that it is extremely important for clients to establish a relationship with their attorney. She always spends the necessary one-on-one time with her clients to determine their needs and what will be the best outcome for them. She then works with the client to create an effective strategy to assist him or her in achieving the best outcome possible. This approach has allowed Melanie to obtain advantageous results for her clients – especially in high conflict cases.
Melanie handles a broad range of family law cases, including divorce, legal separations, co-habitation relationships, child custody disputes, parentage, and modifications.
When Melanie is not practicing law, she enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her family.
Melanie Griffin is a great attorney and a wonderful person. When I met with Melanie for the first time regarding my case, she was attentive, understanding, and compassionate. Within days of hiring Melanie, she was helping ease the stress of my case that I had been battling for close to 4 years. Melanie is very knowledge in the law and how to best handle very messy cases. She is a force to be reckoned with in the court room. She is also very well-liked by her colleagues.
Melanie also made me feel like I was her most important client. Melanie would always call me back quickly if she was out of her office. Prompt in responding to my emails and answering every question I had. She would explain to me the process of what she was doing and gave me the choice of how I wanted to handle the situation. She would give me words of support when the case became too much. She always would let me know that she was walking beside me during the whole process.
After 4 years of battling with my ex-husband, thanks to Melanie, I finally have closure and peace in my life. I would never have the outcome I have today if it had not been for Melanie.
All of the staff at Tuohy Minor Kruse is extremely professional and nice. I would highly recommend them (and I have) to anyone.
